The photographs you see are of Single Mass Flywheel/Double Disc Clutch (SMF/DDC) kit or SMF/SDC (single disc) kits for Dodges, GM, and Ford diesel pick-up trucks with a manual transmission. Dodge Diesel Double & Triple Disc Clutches

SBC DD are designed for sled pulling and drag racing. The ceramic or feramic clutch buttons for the double disc or triple disc clutch plates are your choice. HP from 550 to over 850 depends on the number and type of buttons and the pressure plate lbs. The Iron Giant III Triple Disc which has 12 feramic buttons on each side of the three clutch discs and a 4200 lb pressure plate load. If you only plan to add some tuning power and due some drag racing and only a few sled pulls than a SBC DD 3600or 3850 will be quite a very good option.
Dodge Input Shaft & Hydraulic Assemblies
Upgrades of Dodge DD 4200 Extreme Comp - THE IRON GIANT - will require ordering this upgraded hydraulic assembly. Any DD 3850 will also need upgraded hydraulics. The two DD 3600 may also need this as well.
Trucks equipped with the NV4500 will require the ISK 1.375" input shaft upgrade. 1999-2000.5 truck 6 sp transmissions qre equipped with a 1 1/4" input shaft. This ISK 1.375" upgrade shaft will NOT work on this transmission. However, the DD clutch will be built to work with the 1 1/4" spine.
Dodge Diesel Single Disc Clutches
This MU 0090 Rally Dyna Max kit features an organic friction material comprised for 808 composite, resulting in a significantly reduced operation temperature which gives this kit ulta-smoothe engagement & extended life. This kit will hold up to 350 horse power & 700 ft. lbs. of torque. years 1989-2003, 5 speed & 6 speed non-ETH.
The MU 13-1.25 Con O, OFE, FE is this Dyna Max kit which features a performance organcic lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This clutch is designed to cure premature disk failure due to high horse power and heavy hauling in the 5 speed and early 6 speed non- ETH 12 1/4" clutches. SBC has taken the 13" ETH clutch and modified it to accept the 1 1/4" clutches. SBC has taken the 13" ETH clutch and modified it to accept the 1 1/4" input shaft. By doing this, it enabled SBC to offer a disk center that is 2-3 times larger and stronger than can be provided in th e12 1/4" clutch kits. This kit comes with a flywheel, redrilled and refaced to accept the larger clutch and is rated to handle up to 350 horsepower & 750 ft. lbs. of torque. Years 1989-2003 5 speed and 6 speed non-ETH.
MU 13-1.25 includes a single mass flywheel and a single disc clutch for 1989 thru 2005 5 speed and 1999 thru 2005 6 speed (w/o HO engine) trucks. The Con O (organic) will hold up to 350 RWHP. The Con OFE (organic on the pressure plate side and feramic on the flywheel side) will hold up to 450 RWHP. The Con FE will hold up to 550 RWHP and 1100 ft. lbs. of RWTQ.

MU 1947 Con FE Dyna Max kit features a full feramic lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will hold 550 horsepower & 1100 ft. lbs. of torque. Years 2000.5-2000.5 Eth with NV5600 Trans.
MU 13-1.375 Con O Dyna Max features a variation from organic to organic and feramic or all feramic linings with marcellad fins. This pressure plate has been modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will accept teh 1 3/8" input shaft to allow you a convert from 5 speed to 6 speed transmission without having to purchase the 6sp fywheel. This kit comes with everything in the picture. This kit will ranged in holding power, depending on the configuration, from stock horspower of 350hp & related torque (700 ft. lbs.) as well. This kit can now be used in the high ouput (HO) 5.9 diesels with NV5600. Mu 13-1.375 Con OFE kit will ranged in holding power, depending on the stock horsepower to 450 hp & 900 ft. lbs. to torque. MU 13-1.375 Con FE kit will depend on the stock horsepower to 550 horsepower &1100 ft. lbs. to torque.

GM Duramax Diesel Clutches

DDD Max FB now available!! 2000-05 & 2006 Duramax. Horsepower & torque not yet known but well over 650 hp and 1200 ft. lbs. torque. DDD Max Con FB came out in January 2008 for Duramax sled pulling. This is a triple disc feramic clutch kit that holds way more power. Look closely at the pic and you will see the two center plates that seperate the there clutch plates. These clutch plates are solid not sprung hub clutches. The flywheel was modified (different than the DD SMF) to hold three clutches.
The DD Max Con is a brand new design for the Duramax with the ZF6 transmissions from 2001 through 2006. The previous version had fewer buttons and RWHP was from 400 to 650. These new kits have 10 buttons on each side of each clutch plate. In addition they now have sprung hubs on the clutch plates, which reduce the rattle and absorb a lot of the diesel spike. It is expected that the HP will increase. DD Max Street Double is 550 hp & 1100 ft. lbs. to torque. DD Max CB Double Disc is also similar. DD Max FE Double Disc is 650 hp & 12 ft. lbs. to torque. These have worked well since the got started in January 2006!
SD Max Con O, CB, FE is built for all the same trucks as the DDC but is a single disc kit for replacement of stock dual mass flywheel kits that all fail over time. The clutches can be organic, ceramic or feramic and will hold up to 400, 450, and 500 RWHP.
GM 6.5 Diesel Clutches
The South Bend Clutch, Inc. has manufactured aftermarket components for the GM 6.5 diesel pick-up trucks made from 1992 to 2002. These 1992-95 trucks have MU-1931 components, and the 1996-2002 trucks have MU-1930 components. These are all Heavy Duty Parts, including available solid flywheels and Kevlare linings in the clutch plates.
Ford Double Disc Diesel Clutches

The FDD 3250 & 3600 is for the 1994 thru 1998 Ford 7.3. The FDD 1939 is built for the Ford 7.3 1999 thru 2002. Both the 5 speed (~1998) and the 6 speed kits have 12 buttons on each plate (picture similar) and can be ceramic or feramic. RWHP runs from 550 to 750 depending on the buttons and the pressure plate you decide on.
Ford Single Disc Diesel Clutches
MU 1944-325 is available in stock with Incl. Flywheel & Devlar pb. 1987-93 w/IDI and DI. Max 87-91 MU 1944/325 Con O 5 sp has 350 hp and 750 ft. lbs. of torque. 87-91 MU 1944/325 Con OFE 5 sp is 450 hp and 900 ft. lbs. of torque. 87-91 MU 1944/325 Con FE 5 sp has 550 hp and 1100 ft. lbs. of torque.
MU 1944-325 Con O, OFE, and FE for 92- 93 have the same hp and torque.
MU 1944 Con O, OFE, and FE fro 94-98 also have same hp and torque.
MU 1944 6 sp Con O, OFE, and FE also have the same hp and torque.

MU 1939 DF. HD conversion clutch kit to be used with OEM flywheel for 1999-2003, Ford Power Stroke, 6 speed. Smi designed HD clutch disk center, up to 400 hp. Has a 4 paddle, free travel, Spicer design clutch kit that is available in four different types of materials according to customer needs: Clutchtex Kevlar, S K Wellam's Extreme (Kevlare & carbon fiber), S K Wellman's Carbotic or Maba Ceramic. This clutch disk is designed to absorb the vibrations of the diesel and gives the capability of hauling heavy loads without causing premature disk failure. The OEM Valeo disk has a tendency to throw the dampening springs as shown on the Ford Catalog page. This disk, with SBC modified Valeo pressure plate, bolts directly to the OEM solid flywheel and will handle 400 hp and 900 ft. lbs. of torque. You will have to choose the materials.
MU 1950 is designed for the 6.0 Ford (2004 -2007) with a 6 speed ZF6 transmission. The DF button clutchs handle 400 hp and 800 ft. lbs. of torque. The CB version handles 475 hp and 1000 ft. lbs. of torque. The MU 1950 4 Paddle 8FB handles 550 hp and 1100 ft. lbs. of torque.
Design Info
This SMF is machined in one piece, unlike the DMF, so it will not fail or throw broken parts through your bell housing! The colored plates attached to the clutch side of the flywheel are bronze feramic buttons designed to handle a lot of heat. Buttons on both sides of each clutch plate and are replaceable if they ever wear out (very unlikely). This greatly reduces the chance of damaging the flywheel. Additionally, these plates provide a much smoother engagement which reduces the squealing/chirping and grabbing that is typical of iron clutch plates.
The ceramic plates are designed to hold up to 1100*F temperature. Along with the double clutch plates and the stout pressure plate this kit will hold a lot of torque. This kit can be used for daily driving, heavy towing, and can even be used for some sled pulling competitions.
The feramic plates are designed for general competition use. The feramic plates will handle 1300*F temperature and therefore last longer for more sled pulls. Both of these kits will have no significant impact on the clutch pedal pressure and can be driven daily with ease on the road or drag strip! SBC can tell you about a sled pulling Cummins that used an SBC SMF/DDC for four years and about 40 sled pulls before returning it for maintenance. It was still in reliable condition. There are other testimonials available upon your request.
